| Story | Prior to enlisting in t he Navy Alfred worked as an algricultural Labourer. On joining the Navy during the WW1 on the 8 Jan 1916 he was listed as e Boy II rating aboard the Ganges, his final service appears to have been on the HMS Harrier 1945 having served 28 years in the Navy.
