| Story | Roger was born in Tyne Dock, and worked as a miner at Boldon Colliery pit. Married to Mabel Beatrice Harle (nee Grant) born 1891. They were married in St Nicholas Church Boldon Colliery on the 31/12/1908. Mabel died age 24 of a Gastric ulcer 27/9/1915. They had a son John Grant Harle born 1/4/1913 at Boldon Colliery. Roger enlisted in the army 15/10/1915, he was a Driver in the Royal Horse Artillery. His last posting was on 21/9/1918. On the 30/12/1918 he was given orders to proceed from Rouen to England on board the SS "Princess Victoria" for release back to his pre war occupation as a miner. For his service to duty he recived the Britsh War & Victory Medals.
